Sign-in & sync

StrategyTune is built so the most useful thing — running a backtest — works without an account. Signing in adds the persistent layer: saved sessions, your custom indicator library, and AI features. This page covers what changes when you do.

Anonymous use

You can do all of this without an account:

• Open any chart, pick any security and date range, run the replay.
• Place trades during replay; see live P&L and trade statistics.
• Add built-in indicators to the chart.
• Write custom indicators in code (locally — they won't sync).

What you can't do without an account:

• Save a session.
• Use AI indicator generation.
• Sync your custom indicators across devices.

What sign-in unlocks

• Saved sessions. Snapshot a backtest and resume later, on any device. See Saved sessions.
• Custom indicator persistence. Indicators you write are stored on your account. Open the app on another device, sign in, your library is there.
• Per-indicator chat history. Each AI conversation is tied to its indicator and survives across sessions, so you can come back to a refinement later.
• AI indicator generation. Available on paid plans. See AI overview.
• Billing dashboard. Subscription management, credit balance, AI usage log, top-ups.

What doesn't sync

A couple of things deliberately stay device-local:

• Chart layout and drawings. Trendlines, fibs, custom annotations on the chart, and the chart's visual configuration aren't part of the saved-session format.
• Which indicators are currently on the chart. Your custom indicators sync; the set you've added to the chart for a given session is part of the chart layout, not the session.

That's a deliberate choice — sessions stay portable and small, and the chart's visual state is yours to arrange the way you want on each device.

Signing in

Click the avatar / sign-in icon in the top-right of the app. You can sign in with email plus the providers we expose. The same account works in the app, on the landing pricing flow, and in the docs.

Sign-in is sticky across browser sessions but per-device — signing in on one machine doesn't sign you in on another. Sign out from the avatar menu when you're done on a shared device.

Privacy & data

• Anonymous use produces no account-tied data; nothing you do leaves the browser tab beyond serving you market data.
• Signed-in use stores: your saved sessions, your custom indicators (code + metadata + chat history), your billing state.
• You can delete a saved session or a custom indicator at any time from inside the app.
